You Don’t Have to Propose to Engage Customers: Social Media Outreach 101

website designWhile having a great website design is key to creating an accessible platform for your customers, utilizing online marketing tools through social media is the best way to reach new clients across the globe. Here are the pillars of social media outreach and how social media use can benefit your business.

You get the customers engaged

Starting a Facebook page or a Twitter page for your business is key to making the consumer feel like they matter. And they do: without the customer, your business would assuredly flounder. It’s important to give back to those customers through social media engagement. According to studies by SalesForce Marketing Cloud, 83% of consumers like — or even love — when a business replies to their posts on social media.

Interacting with customers not only makes the consumer feel heard, it also projects a strong image to other clientele. If you get a good reputation for responding to your consumers through social media, you might even get a share or two when you solve a problem or offer helpful information. Take it from Wendy’s: their Twitter posts are shared across the globe.

Make sure your data is correct

There’s nothing worse than posting incorrect information on your social media. If your company is holding a promotion event, you want to triple-check those facts and ensure you’re not lying to the consumer. Try creating a fun event page. Including prizes or customer recognition is a great way to drum up excitement about your business.

Know when to post

Posting at 4 a.m. won’t be effective unless you’re trying to reach customers in Australia. Most businesses target local clientele, so analyzing high volumes of internet traffic on certain websites in your hometown will work in your favor.

Knowing your brand is another key facet of knowing when to post. Most food blogs will post on Fridays since people are looking for good eats over the weekend. For business news, posting on a Monday or Wednesday will work better than a Friday.

Understanding the ins and outs of social media marketing is an important factor in gaining higher volumes of internet traffic. If you want to improve your online presence, consider hiring a website design service that can help you form a social media marketing plan. Your followers will thank you.

6 Clutch Mobile Website Design Techniques Pros are Using in 2018

website design companyWeb design services are among the most important aspects of a successful digital marketing campaign. In this blossoming field, mobile website design is the most important niche. According to Statista, mobile internet penetration is poised to grow 62.3% globally in 2018. That means your company will need a website design company well versed in designing mobile-friendly pages. Here are some of the features a top-notch website design company will be able to provide.

  1. Automatic Formatting
Everyone has a vaguely different smartphone these days. Whether your customer uses an iOs or Android device, and whether the screen is large or small, the website absolutely must fit the display perfectly. If it doesn’t, you run the risk of losing leads.
  2. Interactive Graphic Menu Functionality
Your menu tab should be easy to find and even easier to use. A new industry standard logo is emerging to represent the site’s menu in an aesthetic way. Three parallel and horizontal lines are nearly universally recognized as the menu button. Of course, your business is free to use any type of decoration or flair that you want, just make sure people know where to find your drop-down menu. Just as importantly, make the menu as simple as possible.
  3. Two-Click Navigation
Speaking of menus and navigation, here’s an excellent rule of thumb: users should be able to get to the page they are looking for in two clicks. If someone has to click more than two or three times to find the product or info they need, they’re going to end up clicking away.
  4. Accurate Touch Screen Inputs
There’s nothing more frustrating than touching a link on your smartphone and having it not respond. If you have a link or a button on your web page, make sure it is responsive. This is true across all web design, but it is especially important for mobile users.
  5. Load Time
Another thing that is universally important amongst all websites is that your landing page doesn’t take a long time to load. If it does, people will become impatient and ‘bounce’ elsewhere. If your site is bogged down with slow loading times, trim away excess graphics, animations, complicated menus, and other forms of digital distraction.
  6. Simplicity
Simplicity is important when presenting anything. You want people to be able to use your site without any problems. Intuitive, simple navigation and clean design should be a top priority for mobile websites.

When hiring a website design company, ask to see some of the sites in their portfolio. This will give you a feel for what to expect when your site is completed. If they can check all of the boxes listed above, you are in good hands.

5 Biggest Web Design Mistakes You MUST Avoid This Year

web designThe 2017/18 Global Digital Outlook Study found that 43% of marketers across the world are upping their investment in digital marketing. Almost half are spending 50% or more of their marketing budget on digital marketing alone. The importance companies place on having a solid online marketing game is huge. Everything from search engine optimization to pay per click advertising plays a pivotal role in a successful marketing campaign, but one thing needs to happen first.

Website design can be likened to how a physical store looks. Is it clean? Are things where you’d expect them to be? Do people like being there? These are all important questions for store owners, and now website owners must ask them as wel. Sometimes, however, a website is a total mess. In fact, this is fairly common. So, here are some common web design mistakes to avoid at all costs.

  1. Unresponsive Design
A responsive web design is a site designed so that its presentation adapts to the size of screen that it is being accessed from. If, say, a visitor is using a phone to access your site, but when it loads they are only able to see the top left corner of your site, they will likely find another website to browse.
  2. Under or Over Designing
Too little design being put into a page is one way to make your website look like everyone else’s’. Too much design and your website could end up looking cluttered, distracted, and all over the place.
  3. Missing Leads
If you employ Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click, and other lead generation techniques, but fail to capture user emails and contact information when they are directed to your site, you will lose those people as leads. Not every visitor will convert on their first visit, which is why remarketing campaigns, contact forms, and email lists are such valuable lead capture tools.
  4. Buried Essential Information
If potential customers have to click through 17 different pages of nonsense to find the product information they’re after… Well, they won’t click through that many pages, will they? Make any important information relating to purchases readily available and easy to locate, or risk losing lots of leads.
  5. 404s
    Error: List item not found.

If you wish to avoid these issues and make a masterful website, contact a professional website design company that offers a wide array of web design services. Building a beautiful and high functioning website is no small chore. If you need a hand, contact us today.

Small Web Design Mistakes With A Big SEO Impact

digital marketingPromoting your business in today’s online marketplace takes strong SEO. Since about 70% of the links web users click are organic, you likely do everything you can to boost your site’s SEO. But do you pay attention to the small factors that could be hurting your ranks? Often, web design is to blame for holding a website back from full optimization. While the website might have a strong aesthetic design, there might be small mistakes quietly harming your site’s SEO and digital marketing as a whole. The following are some of these common errors.

  1. New Windows
Clicking on a link and opening a new window used to be the norm. In fact, it may have even been a trend. Now any quality web design company knows that this feature uses up site data and decreases site usability. A streamlined approach is best.
  2. Hidden Contact Info
Web design best practices tell you to place your contact info in several visible places. However, many firms skip this step. When a user can’t find your contact information to call for more information, they are more likely to click away. And that means fewer views on your other pages.
  3. Large Media Files
High quality images are key to digital marketing, but it’s possible to take this too far. If your photos, videos, and graphics are bigger than they need to be, you might be unnecessarily slowing down your page load times. This mistake will also cause users to click away and decrease your page views.
  4. Infinite Scroll
While infinite scroll is a trend, particularly in blogging, it can be confusing for Google’s crawlers. This is especially true if the page is indexed incorrectly. While a human user will know to load more posts once they get to the bottom, the crawler’s won’t. Then they will only index a fraction of the links you actually have on your site.
  5. Text In Images
It’s a common web design and digital marketing trend to place text over images, but this is only effective if you do it correctly. If a website designer places a keyword on a graphic in a design program and then uploads this image, Google will see it as an image exclusively. To get SEO value out of this text, place the text over the image on your website.
  6. Little Social Linking
By not integrating your social pages and your website, you might be missing out on an SEO boost. You site’s social buttons should be placed on several pages on your website (the footer is a common place). Similarly, your website should be linked in all of your social profiles.

Remember: The best way to catch these web design mistakes is to work with a professional search engine marketing firm. This way, you can get expert advice on your design and other SEO strategies. And if done well, this should bump your site in the rankings and increase traffic.

Which content management system is right for your website?

Finding the right content management system, otherwise known as the CMS, for your website is one of the most important steps of the website design process.

There are multiple content management systems on the market today that you can utilize for your website.  This article will review each of them so that you can select the best one for your website.

WordPress

This is the most popular and best content management system on the market today.  Wordpress provides a system that allows for theme-based (template) or custom designed websites.  Wordpress has excellent search engine benefits through the use of plugins and custom code.  The system also has multiple plugins that allow for easy E-Commerce management.

This system is perfect for: any business.

Built-Out Solutions: Squarespace, Wix & Weebly

There are multiple systems that only require little coding to build a full website.  Squarespace, Wix, and Weebly are the three most popular of these platforms.  They all provide responsive, modern, and search engine savvy templates to base your website off of.  Squarespace takes it a few steps further with their integrated E-Commerce and Product management capabilities.

These systems are perfect for: small businesses, small retail stores, small online stores, and startup businesses.

Joomla!

This is an older content management system.  It is very popular with intense UI/UX website development, but other than that it is not recommended for new website designs.  Wordpress is a much more powerful option compared to Joomla!.
